Overview

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for providing support to employees on all shifts, execute the talent acquisition strategy, onboard and offboard, communicate benefits and wellness programs, provide intermediate employee relations support, and ensure compliance.         

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding activities with the hiring manager, conduct new hire orientation and perform employee check-ins at 30-60-90-day intervals
  • Coordinate employee work life balance activities
  • Coordinate, communicate, and engage employees in workplace committees
  • Ensure paperwork is completed and employee files are maintained
  • Ensure the HRIS system is up to date by sending new hire, change, and termination information to the payroll processor
  • Answer benefits questions and assist employees with online enrollment
  • Update employee boards, electronic billboards, and email company and HR program and policy updates
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to employees and leaders on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, and policy interpretation and application, escalating more complex issues
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Recruit for top talent by executing the recruiting strategy, partner with management on key roles, conduct phone screens, and schedule interviews
  • Create and post job advertisements through the applicant tracking system (ATS), job boards, college campus boards or on social media platforms 
  • Participate in job fairs and college recruitment programs and build relationships with key advisors
  • Communicate recruiting metrics, maintain headcount and turnover reports, and provide data to company leaders
  • Support unemployment process, as needed, which may include responding to claims and attending appeals hearings as requested
  • Actively promote cultural change and support new ways of working and continuous improvement within HR to provide a high quality, profession, consistent, and cohesive HR service.  This includes working collaboratively and communicating proactively; understanding the needs of; and eliciting and monitoring feedback from employees and identifying and delivering developments to enhance service delivery and employee experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of related experience in Human Resources
  • HR Certification preferred (through SHRM and/or HRCI)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, medical device manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to consistently achieve business results
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks when needed
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and hold team members accountable
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and system thinking ability; demonstrated through previous experience
  • Strong initiative and results orientation
  • Ability to convey information effectively and professionally to others, be an active listener, and develop healthy working relationships with others
