Position Summary

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for planning, laying out, and performing various sheet metal operations to fabricate a wide variety of units or products with complex designs, ensuring precise tolerances.

 

Shift: 

2nd Shift Monday through Thursday - 4:15pm to 2:45am

 

Responsibilities

Brake Press Operator Responsibilites 

  • Operate and set up various sheet metal machines to bend, cut, or form parts.
  • Utilize a range of sheet metal hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Apply intermediate-level shop mathematics for accurate measurements.
  • Interpret and understand blueprints at an intermediate level.
  • Follow work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists accurately.
  • Input production data into the ERP system promptly.
  • Maintain a well-organized work area (5S), including workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms.
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program to improve processes.
  • Adhere to professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual.
  • Follow safety policies, including wearing personal protective equipment as required.
  • Comply with the company’s Quality System, ISO standards, and medical device requirements.
  • Perform any additional assigned duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA’s and certifications)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 2 years of experience in brake press setup.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents.
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness to take direction from the area manager.
  • Capability to collaborate with team members, provide input to the area lead, and actively participate in meetings.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas of production when necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
